NEWS

Our fifth annual Dining For Good Living was once again a sellout for the fifth straight year.  Guests were treated to unique foods with an awesome presentation and wonderful wines from the Dry Creek Vineyards to compliment each course.  The Medure family is to be commended for volunteering their time and talent to make this fund-raiser such a success. The event has turned into our second largest fund-raiser and this year alone raised more than $22,000 to be used to provide services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

More than 450 executives from 50 financial organizations honored finalists and recipients of the second annual Community Leadership Awards recently at the Hilton Hotel in New York City.  The awards, in four categories, were presented by the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation and InvestmentNews to honor financial advisors who have made outstanding charitable contributions. Elizabeth Verterano,  a financial advisor for Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., was the recipient of the Community Leadership Award.  She was selected as a finalist from nearly 500 nominees. As a result of this award, the CSLC will receive a $10,000 donation, earmarked by Beth for debt retirement of the facility. “Our goal has always been to put ourselves out of business by breaking the cycle of abuse so the community would no longer need our services.” said Beth, one of the founders and a current member of the board of directors of the CSLC.
