Tuesday Musical Club Vocal
Division is open to any member who is interested in singing or
listening to vocal music. Division meetings are held five times a
year at 10:30 A.M. on Thursdays. Meetings are usually held in
September, November, February, April, and June.
At Vocal Division meetings, a short business meeting
is followed by a program presented by Club members and arranged by the
Division chair. Any member can perform at these meetings, which
are held in private homes. Vocal solos, duos, and ensembles are
presented. Members volunteer to host these meetings in
their homes.
In addition to the general $50 dues for Tuesday
Musical Club membership, Vocal Division has division dues of $5 per
year. This money is used for postage to send meeting notices to
Division members. It is also used to defray expenses for Vocal
Division responsibilities for various Tuesday Musical Club
events. The Divisions take turns providing refreshments for
receptions after public concerts. They also provide items
for the Club fund-raising festival each October.
Information about the location and program for
each meeting is publicized in the monthly Club newsletter and is also
sent as an e-mail notice. Directions to the location are
included. Guests of members are welcome to attend.
If you would enjoy listening to vocal music in an
intimate setting wiith other music lovers, the existence of Vocal
Division would be a good reason to join Tuesday Musical Club. If
you are a singer who would like to perform privately for a supportive
audience, this division would provide such opportunities. If you
are looking for an accompanist, you will meet many pianists in the
Club. If you are a professional singer preparing for a public
recital, these meetings offer excellent rehearsal possibilities.
Tuesday Musical Club Vocal Division offers
participatory music that will complement your experiences as a
listener, audience member, or member of other singing groups.
