TUESDAY MUSICAL CLUB |
The Tuesday Musical Club offers educational and performing opportunites
to instrumentalists in the Chamber Music Division as well as the String
Ensemble. Chamber music coaching sessions are held three times per
year in private homes. Coaches are professional musicians, usually
from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Members form groups and rehearse
on their own in preparation for these coached sessions. Chamber Music Division
activities are available for members who work full-time, because the sessions
are usually held on Sunday evenings and the rehearsals can be done at any
time.
In addition to the coached sessions, informal playing sessions are arranged several times per year in members' homes. These sessions are used to discover compatible groups and music to be studied for the coached sessions, and are also used just for the fun of playing together. Pianos are available in many homes so that piano ensembles as well as works without piano can be attempted.
Members and guests are welcome to attend the coached sessions as audience members.
