St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center
Greetings from the keyboard of Henry Caruso

St.
Paul’s is a place and an experience of peace, beauty, affirmation and
joy. I have been attending retreats here since 1985. Liturgies at the
retreat center are both compelling and reflective providing
opportunites for a deeper understanding and, therefore, a deeper love
and commitment to our faith.
As the music minister here I have a strong desire to
further enhance our liturgies. I envision gathering a
loving and dedicated music ensemble that will add to our spiritual
experience and ministry. The group I see is not only a choir but
a group of instrumentalists and singers that in time will mold and meld
together.
I am joyfully extending an invitation to all christians who love
to sing, play their flute or clarinet, violin, guitar, hand
drums, bass guitar etc. and love their faith to join our music
ministry. Our chapel is a place of intimacy, beauty and peace which
sets the stage for our music and our retreatants sing!
There are many musical people of faith out there who I’ve described
above that could add to our music but who may have questions or
even reservations about time and commitment. I would welcome the
opportunity to speak with you in person or by phone/email this summer.
I am organizing now.
If good live music is important to you, please join us. Good ensemble music can only add to our retreat experience.
In closing, weekend retreatants are welcome to join us in our music for
the weekend but it is important that you contact me in advance of your
retreat for a coordination of the liturgies.
