About Stillpoint

Stillpoint was established in Pittsburgh in 1990 when two individuals, introduced through a mutual friend, began sitting zazen together. They were soon joined by a third and then a fourth. Through the years, the group grew, and sat in apartments, basements, and attics. In 2001, Stillpoint purchased a house on 41st in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The sangha is presently refurbishing the house as it becomes our new zendo. We started sitting in the new zendo on June 16th, 2002.

Services:

Stillpoint is committed to making Zen practice truly accessible to the Pittsburgh community.  We offer introductions to zazen, a morning and evening sitting schedule, Sunday service, monthly day-long sittings, and occasional special events, including sesshins led by visiting teachers.
