Incorporated in 1973
SHAGOG or South Hills Area Council of Governments is a voluntary
organization of municipalities located in the South Hills of Allegheny
County, Pennsylvania. SHACOG's purpose is to meet at regular
intervals to discuss and study community challenges of mutual interest
and concern. Members seek, by agreement, solutions to common
problems for their collective benefit. SHACOG coordinates and
administers programs of regional interest that benefit member municipal
governments. SHACOG is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a delegate and an alternate representative appointed by each member municipality. Each member municipality is entitled to one vote. Members of the Board must be elected officials of their representative municipalities. Officers consist of a President, a Vice-President and a Secretary/Treasurer. Day to day activities are administered by an Executive Director who, pursuant to the corporate by-laws, also serves as the Secretary Treasurer. An administrative secretary assists the Executive Director. |
